Lonely

 

You all ask me,

'Who am I ?',

Hope

 

Moon is like hope in the dark sky,

Beneath which, we all love to lie.

It gives us something to look forward to,

Emblazed in the night sky like a tattoo.

Fear, sorrow, horror, all bow to hope,

It is the one thing that helps us cope.

 

Hope gives love its definition,

Love gives hope its destination.

Like the moon, it disappears once in a while,

But it always comes back with a smile.

To hold on to hope,

Is to hold on to the rope,

That pulls us out of the darkness,

Out of the blackness.

Lucinda Core

 The Black Time

Lucinda Core is one of the main characters of the series Ventures of Gem Land. She is the daughter of Liv and Hudson Hunter, the former King and Queen of the Southern part of Gem Land. Her parents died when she was six years old and her memory was wiped and she was sent away to earth to live with her mother's friends. She is the sister of Jackson Core, another main character in the book series.

Her real name was Ella meaning light since it was hoped that she would brighten the future of Gem Land. Her surname is Core since she bears the power of Core, the source of energy for all Night as well as Light Kingdoms.

When she was twelve, the Queen of Gem Land pays her and her brother, Jackson, a visit, revealing that they both are connected by blood which comes as a surprise to both of them. She along with her brother is then taken to Gem Land for fourteen days to learn about basic magic so that she could protect herself when necessary. While reaching upon Gem Land, she finds so many friends of hers who were related to magic. She meets the daughter of the Queen named Ezobella who lives on the same floor of the castle as she does. Having born with profound skills, she learns magic quickly but it proves to be dangerous for her too when she loses control over her emotions. She catches up with her best friend Jessica, who turns out to be the niece of the Queen of Fire element and meets a boy named Devin. As her skill grows, she finds out that she had the ability to detect thoughts, so she becomes suspicious of him and his sister Layla who she realized was practising Dark magic.

A couple days pass normally after she returns back to earth. Having no magic abilities on earth, she feels like she is going back to normal life until a girl she meets in the lavatory gets strangled by an invisible person and her best friend, Susan, comes up with the theory of Black Time. Before she could learn more, even her best friend gets attacked and everyone had seemed to forget that Susan ever existed. She grieves for a few days until she has to visit her maternal aunt and uncle's anniversary. Her grandfather explains Black Time to her, but he too dies. Having to cope up with the death of her best friend and her grandfather, Lucinda tries to distract herself by reading but in the school library, she finds an old book, named the Book of Secrets, with everything about Black Time. She recruits everyone about whom the book mentioned, her close friend Chancy, Jackson, Jessica, Devin, Susan's brother Darien and her classmate Ethan, and they all together, find out that the barrier of the Black Kingdom is opened and they close it.

In the process, they obtain Gem powers, the only magic that worked on Earth. Lucinda obtains the power of telekinesis and teleportation.

Ventures of Gem Land-2: The Gorgon's Curse

After the danger of Black Time is gone, another danger takes its place. As the light of the eclipse falls over the earth, it opens the passage to the world of monsters and the living dead. As the half-dead merge with the living, a cascade of unfortunate events begins.  . With every step of these merciless creatures with an endless bloodlust, the amount of danger increases. The monster queen is in search of a jewel, one with powers enough to conquer the world, but only to find it destroyed years ago. As Jackson, Devin and Jessica venture to find a cure to save Lucinda, they find themselves in a situation where one wrong move can not only take their lives, but also result in the destruction of the world.

Ventures of Gem Land: The Black Time

A single meeting with the queen, Lucinda gets to know certain facts that keep her spellbound and leads to a world of magic. After the passageway that leads to magic opens, more passageways those lead to dangers open too. With illusions covering the earth, one more illusion arises. The illusion that can cause tremendous harm. A little girl warns Lucinda; but after losing her best friend and great grandfather, she realizes the amount of danger that an unknown stranger can cause. With the help of wondrous magic and gifted friends, Lucinda journeys to find a book, a book that bears secrets beyond expectations. The barrier of hazardous possibilities opens, and now she must take the charge and face the worst.
